Irony or Hashgacha?

letter-447577_1280

Without nevi’im, we never know with certainty how to react to and interpret “coincidences.” But HKBH does play His Hand more visibly at some times than others…

This item is a few days old. I cannot take responsibility for the accuracy of its attribution.

65 years ago the ashes of the Jewish people who were incinerated in the crematoria of Poland and elsewhere covered the skies of europe- now, on the day when we commemorate the shoah – the 27th of nissan – ashes began to cover Europe. Today is the day when all eyes are turned to Poland for the funeral of their president –

There is a Jewish God in Heaven and on earth

Rabbi Nachman Kahana

    Good nimshal Reb Nachman.

Garnel, I am sure you know that the tectonic plates that divided and caused the massive earthquke in Haiti were renamed “Bush’s Fault”. I assume that since global warming caused the volcano to erupt, it could be renaimed ” Gore’s Eruption”.

There is some tension between these two facts:

    1. HaShem sends us messages to motivate us to correct or improve our lives.

    2. Someone on our level can’t fully comprehend HaShem’s actions, even those we are allowed to understand somewhat.

Why wait 65 years? Maybe because the Jews are once again at the height of Anti-Semitism with all the nations trying to eliminate them again. HaShem may be saying, I remember, do not worry.

Wait, they’re not blaming George Bush and the anti-global warming crowd?”

Not yet, they will. G-d first, Goldman Sachs second.

Is it okay if I point out that this Rabbi is none other than the brother of the late, great Rabbi Meir Kahane? Is it therefore any wonder that he has such tremendous insight into current affairs as seen through classic Jewish eyes? That is one family that I cannot help but admire.

Wait, they’re not blaming George Bush and the anti-global warming crowd?

Whilst the more rationalist amongst us don’t put too much stock on these type of events, apparently the insurance companies are right with you on the hashgacha part. Those thousands and thousands of travelers that bought travel insurance, very common in Europe, alas will not be able to collect as the insurance companies claim it is an act of God.

I assume that Rabbi Nachman Kahana is Religious Zionist? IIRC, Charedim don’t commemorate the Shoah on Nissan 27th (the Warsaw ghetto rebellion), but Av 9th.

  10. Garnel Ironheart says:

The first problem with stories like this is the verse “My thoughts are not as your thoughts”. Does God really behave in such a predictable manner?
The second prolem is that with a minimal number of questions the whole premise breaks down. Why wait 65 years? Why not have this happen annually? Why did the ashes came from Iceland, a country uninvolved in the Holocaust? Why aren’t the Ukraine, Hungary and Croatia as badly affected when they were just as eager collaborators as the Poles? And why would this happen to mar the funeral of a Polish president who was a vocal supporter of Israel?
“My thoughts are not as your thoughts”
