Just What We Needed…

Filed by Yaakov Menken @ 8:59 pm

No time to travel in order to learn about Judaism? Hey, no problem, now a Rabbi will gladly educate you over the Internet, and then invite you to sunny Miami for the “seminar, ceremony, and mikvah.” Is the ceremony the part where they wrap participants in a Torah scroll? [I'm not making this up, follow the link, if you dare.] All that business about moving into a Jewish community, having long-term contact with a Rabbi, that’s so low-tech…

  1. Having the torah do hakofos around us is a very nice metaphor for the philosophy that the Torah should be modified to accomodate changing times.

  2. That website has been up for a while. It is so sad to see these particular “Rabbis” putting putting out webpages and taking cash from unsuspecting people. Both the Gentiles and the Jews lose out badly. I myself went through a Reform conversion and saw the impact that superficial conversions leave. It really is unfortunate on so many levels.

  3. Conversion 2.0…

Cross-Currents scooped this a while back, but I just can’t resist.
Microsoft is pleased to contribute to the Jewish community with the release of Microsoft Conversion, version 2.0.
Although this application will be bundled with the next version…
