PETA and the Epoch of the Messiah
Hmmm… I think R. Yaakov and R. Avi are on to something…maybe that’s what the Talmud means when it says that immediately preceding the advent of the Messiah “pnei hador k’pnei hakelev” (the face of the generation is like the face of the dog)…
I think the whole PETA thing came about because of a recent other scandal in the area of shechita that Jews did to themselves (escalating during the 3 weeks). When Jews themselves start messing with shechita and causing chillul Hashem, Hashem sends the goyim in to make a statement to us and in this instance the statement is through PETA. I hope we learn something and not get distracted from the real issue.
